Transition Grade 6 – Year 7 2024 – School Tour Bookings Now Open
We are delighted to warmly invite prospective families to book a tour to see our school in action as you decide about Year 7, 2024.
We are pleased to offer tours of our amazing school once again, building on the high level of personal on-site relationships service for which we are known. Running small group tours enables families to experience our dynamic learning environment, our facilities and our genuine commitment to positive, respectful relationships – all on a normal school morning.
Led by our Principal and Assistant Principals our tours are small, honest and conversational. We are proud to show off our school in action and we look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks.
Our initial focus is on families approaching Year 7 2024, but we warmly welcome all interest.
Our regular tours continue until early May when your Placement Forms choosing Cranbourne Secondary College are due to Grade 6 teachers.
All tours are to be booked using the button below. You’re also most welcome to contact the school with any questions or for more information.
Families of Grade 6 children are required to submit your Application for Placement forms to your child’s Grade 6 teacher by Friday 12 May 2023.
Term Two
From 24 April 2023:
Families at government schools receive the Placement Information Pack for Parents/Carers (for the 2024 school year) from their primary school.
Families at non-government primary schools (Catholic, Independent, home educated or other) can access this pack here.

Cranbourne Secondary College Information Evening College 7 pm at the Cranbourne Community Theatre, Brunt Street, Cranbourne.
12 May 2023:
Closing date for families at government primary schools to return the Application for Year 7 Placement 2024 Form to their primary school. Families at non-government primary schools must email this completed form directly to us at cranbourne.sc@education.vic.gov.au by this date.
Term Three
19 July 2023:
Families at government primary schools are notified of the outcome of their application by their primary school. Families at non-government primary schools are notified of their application outcome by Cranbourne Secondary College or another school listed in their preference list.
20 July 2023:
Cranbourne Secondary College sends families that have been offered a place a welcome letter affirming their acceptance of our offer.
Families that have not been offered a place can commence lodging a written non-placement appeal to us using the official Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form. Government primary schools will provide families with this form and assist with this process. Families from non-government schools can contact cranbourne.sc@education.vic.gov.au to access this form.
28 July 2023:
Closing date for families to lodge the Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form to cranbourne.sc@education.vic.gov.au.
8 August 2023:
Closing date for families who have lodged the Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form to have received written notification of the appeal outcome. Families who have been unsuccessful in their appeal to us can refer their appeal to the applicable Regional Director. Government primary schools will provide families with information regarding this process. Non-government school families can contact cranbourne.sc@education.vic.gov.au.
9 August 2023:
All families at government primary schools return their Year 7 Placement Acceptance Slip to their child’s government primary school, even if the child will be attending a Catholic or Independent school.
22 August 2023:
Closing date for families to refer their appeal to the applicable Regional Director.
Term Four
12 December 2023:
Orientation Day for all Year 6 students (Year 7 2024).
