At Cranbourne Secondary College, we focus on helping our students become aware of their career options and manage their individual paths by providing vocational guidance, support, and education about career pathways.

A comprehensive careers program is delivered to all students between Years 7 and 12 including careers counselling throughout the year, vocational testing, guest speakers and careers newsletters.

A wide range of resources include University and TAFE booklets, brochures, pamphlets, and other materials available for student use. The college has a team of career practitioners who provide many services to students.

The College provides career-related activities across all secondary year levels, allowing students to build vital skills for their future careers. Some of the opportunities available at the college include:

  • Years 7 & 8 students begin their career journey with My Career Portfolio and create an action plan which supports self and career exploration.
  • Year 9 students delve into their career possibilities by using the Morrisby online assessment tool. This resource aids them in identifying their unique strengths and skills, guiding them towards the career pathway that aligns best with their individual talents.
  • For Year 10 students, work experience offers a fantastic chance to explore the professional world and grasp what is expected in a workplace. This experience helps them build essential skills and knowledge and equips them with valuable insights that will serve them well in their future pathways.
  • In the Mock Interview program, Year 11 students enhance their skills by learning how to write application letters and resumes, followed by a practice interview that helps them improve their interviewing abilities.
  • In Year 12, every student has a one-to-one careers meeting to discuss their tertiary courses and career pathways. We provide the necessary information and guidance to assist students with university applications, employment, or other post-school options.

The College also offers University and TAFE campus experiences. The college has a formal partnership with Monash University’s Schools Access Monash (SAM) program and Federation University. Through these partnerships, we offer students opportunities to visit the campuses and learn more about what is available.
